Switching Web Hosting Providers

Here at Top Cat Computing it has become necessary to switch hosting providers.  Since 1999, Top Cat Computing has been self-hosted over our DSL connection.  As a self-host, you have 100% control over every aspect of the server and can essentially do what you wish.  Now that I have moved to a shared hosting environment, I have come to learn and adapt to the restrictions of being in a shared hosting enviroment. I have seen complaints on the web about the retrictions, but from an administrators point of view I do understand them and realize that the hosting provider has a responsibility to protect their servers and the content of their customers.

This change also impacted seven other web sites managed by Top Cat Computing.  A review of web site activity among other factors was used to decide the fait of these sites. The desision did not an easy one, three of the seven sites  are to be shut down, of the three sites, the most popular is the "ArGoStuff User to User Support Forums" which supported the ArGoSoft Designes Product line (http://www.argosoft.com/). The stie will be closed down as of 1 November 2013.  For more details please see our article "ArGoStuff Web Site To Close" located at http://www.topcatcomputing.com/articles/viewarticle.asp?fn=ArgoStuff-Web-Site-To-Close.

I am proud to announce that we are now hosting our sites with GoDaddy.com. If you are looking for a web hosting provider or domain registrar, please click the icon below.
